“Local Edition,” a community-interest newscast produced by Freelancer Productions, launched in high definition on July 21, becoming Northern Michigan’s first and only local newscast available in HD.
“High definition is the future of television,” said Local Edition News Director and Freelancer Productions President Eric Wotila, “We’ve found that viewers who have seen HDTV are eager to see more. We’re very excited to be the first news operation to bring local news in the stunning picture quality high-definition television presents.”
“Local Edition” is available in high-definition to Charter Digital Cable subscribers via Charter On Demand (Channel 1). Subscribers with Charter’s HD cable service and a high-definition cable box can access the HD newscast by tuning to channel 1 and selecting the “iWantMore > Main Street > Community” category from the on-screen menu.
The newscast is also available to cable subscribers in standard definition on Headline News, Charter Main Street, and Charter On Demand.
